There are some built-in icons in Windows, but there are also an unfathomable number of icons available for download from sites like IconArchive, DeviantArt, and Iconfinder—all of which offer a plethora of free icons. If you can't find anything you like, you may create high-resolution icons from any picture.\
Once you've created the icons of your dreams, store them somewhere safe—some of these procedures will demand that they remain in a certain spot on your PC. In other instances, you'll probably want them nearby in case anything goes wrong and you need to reapply them.

Change the Icons on Your Desktop (Computer, Recycle Bin, Network, and So On)
Icons such as This PC, Internet, Rubbish Bin, and your User directory are all called “desktop icons,” even though they are not all shown on the desktop in current versions of Windows. Except for the Recycle Bin, Windows 8 and 10 do not display any desktop icons, while Windows 7 does not display all of them. Check out our tutorial on restore lost desktop icons in Windows 7, 8, or 10 for a full overview.
However, you may still customize how these symbols look on your system. To do so, open the “Desktop Icon Settings” box and toggle these icons on and off, or replace the corresponding icons. This window is accessible in Windows 11 by going to Settings > Personalization > Themes > Desktop Icon Settings. Control Panel > Personalize > Change Desktop Icons in Windows 8 and 10.
