So you accidentally ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in Klingon? Don't panic, recruit!
We've all been there. You're hyped for a weekend of shooting bad guys and dominating the online leaderboards, only to fire up the game and be greeted by a language that sounds like a particularly grumpy cat coughing up a hairball. Fear not, soldier! Changing the language in Modern Warfare 2 is easier than dodging a noob tube. Here's how to swap that alien tongue for some good ol' fashioned English (assuming Klingon isn't your secret passion, of course).
Step 1: Breathe. It's not the apocalypse (yet).
We understand the frustration. You just want to rain down fire and fury, but instead, you're staring at menus that resemble a decoder ring from a 1950s spy novel. Take a deep breath, private. We'll get you blasting away in English in no time.
Depending on your platform, grab your weapon (or mouse) of choice and follow these simple instructions:
For you PC Pundits:
- Boot up Steam (because who doesn't love a good achievement hunt while they fight terrorists?).
- Right-click on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in your library. It should be easy to spot – it's probably the one with the most dramatic cover art.
- Go to "Properties" and then the "Language" tab.
- You'll see a glorious list of languages, including (hopefully) English. Select it with the precision of a sniper and blammo! You're good to go.
For you Console Commandos:
- PlayStation and Xbox warriors: The process is pretty similar. Head over to the game settings menu and navigate to the language options. Just remember, picking "Pirate" might be funny for a second, but you'll probably regret it after the first "Yarrr, there be enemies over thar!"
Bonus Tip: Check the download size! Sometimes, changing the language might require a small download. Don't worry, it won't take longer than that time you accidentally used all your claymores on yourself.
And there you have it! You're now ready to dominate the battlefield and scream tactical commands that your teammates will actually understand. Remember, soldier, communication is key. Unless you prefer the element of surprise, then by all means, yell random Klingon phrases at your opponents. We won't judge (much).
